About Us

Story time.

Here’s the thing, Fox and Fogo isn’t a business built on a victory story. Quite the opposite actually.
Fox and Fogo is the result of several fall-on-your-face business attempts by our founder, Erin Foggoa.

Erin has ALWAYS been an artist. She’s also always been highly sensitive soul with a sensitive sole…we’ll elaborate.

She loves animals and wants to save every single one she can. So she’s heart sensitive. But she also thinks that touching frozen fruit bags with ice on them is THE WORST, and a poorly made sock can quite literally destroy every ounce of joy in any given day. So it’d be fair to say she is also sensitive in a tactile way.

Erin’s also well aware that she’s a bit weird. She sees humour in almost everything, she definitely spends more time in the forest than interacting with people, she has never followed the road most travelled.

This is not to say that her bushwhacking path through entrepreneurship has been a breeze. It does mean she was willing to try a lot of business ideas, she was willing to challenge the status quo in the way things “must be done,” it means she was willing to fail fast in order to perfect her vision. It means she still wants to change the way success is measured.

Principles

So Fox and Fogo was uncompromisingly designed to accomplish four things;

  1. Leaving a legacy for my daughters of eco-conscious slow-fashion designed with integrity.
  2. Beautiful, artistic “WOW” factor that you don’t usually find in a sock.
  3. A company that was helping not one but eventually dozens of transparent uplifting charity organizations.
  4. An unbeatable look and feel fantastic sock, while still doing good things. Socks that stand the test of; “I need these to feel like you are sliding your feet into clouds, but with the durability of something quietly designed by an expert lab of secret spy scientists.

Here's how we did it;

The WOW Factor

Our socks are actually 3d printed, which is why there are no limits to the colours and designs. They’re made on 200-needle Lonato machines that knit durable, dense yet incredibly soft socks that are guaranteed to feel and fit great. The toe is hand-linked and completely seamless. Fox and Fogo socks are truly one size fits all, from a size 4 female to a size 13 male. Yes, REALLY.

AMAZING BRAND PARTNERS

We scoured the globe for amazing companies, and there are SO MANY. Then we had an excruciatingly long checklist of criteria, ensuring that we were able to transparently see what exactly our funding will DO. If you’d like to see who we are working with, their message is in each collection. And if you want to work with us and feel as though your charity is a fit, email us!

Sustainability and Recycling

It wouldn’t be enough to just make an outstanding design while still ignoring the fact that retail clothing products make up for tonnes of waste! So while comfort was on our forefront, we also searched for a partner that not only doesn’t negatively impact the planet, but also creates a positive imprint as well. Our socks are made from recycled plastic bottles, creating both comfort for your feet and a reduction in waste on the planet.

Prototyping

We use 3D printing to prototype our designs and expediting the design to production process.

Production

We collaborate with the top 3D printing manufacturers in the world to produce our intricate pieces.

Your EURUS piece

Once printed, the EURUS piece goes through an extensive post-processing process that includes both handcraft and mechanical finishing to get the desired final finish.

A bit of Magic

Pulling all three of these requirements together was a bit of magic, and so when you purchase Fox and Fogo socks, our founder wants you to know you are not just buying socks. You are investing in:

  • Three Years of testing and rejecting to find the perfect sock for the job.
  • 20 years of dedicated artistic design, studying the greats, learning how to illustrate on a computer, screaming “argh, back to the drawing board!!” and re-doing everything until it was just right.
  • Years of interviewing and possibly even irritating several transparent charities to find just the right animal-and-people-saving heroes that we felt lit right up to work with.
  • A company that isn’t just spouting off about “making change and giving back” because it’s good for our social media, we actually really CARE from the bottom of our hearts about the people and creatures we work with.
